a snapshot

The photo is me, right now as I write this.

I took it about 2 minutes ago. To capture this day and this moment.

I smell like men’s shaving cream because that’s what I used in the shower 20 minutes ago.

I wanted to savor this day, a good day.

I signed a contact for a new job today, I start on Monday.

The past week, the past months haven’t been easy. For me or for anyone, but today was a good day.

A sign of good things to come.

A sign of life moving and growing and new possibilities.

The photo is unapologetic, messy hair and hand me down clothes and legs smelling of heavily scented shaving cream.

I feel my best self in these moments, the messy moments when I am just content.

So here’s to the things to come, to learning new things and for days full of work and meeting new people.

This photo is a reminder to me, and to you if you need it, that seasons do change, and the light does eventually chase out the darkness.
